What Causes Dark Colored Tongue?

Question: My one and a half daughter has a dark coloured tongue. Also wheeze and seems to be struggling to eat. Last night she was up all night with a temp, but after some pain meds it came down and she fell asleep. Should I be worried?

Discolouration of tongue is quite common during episode of fever and there is nothing to be worried about.

I would suggest you the following

1. Antipyretic like Paracetamol for control of Fever

2. Multivitamin Syrup will help reduce discolouration of tongue

3. Normal Saline Nebulization will help relieve wheeze
