Brief Answer:
It could be due to musculoSkeletal cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, it looks like a musculoSkeletal cause. Hashimotos has no relation to this cramps.
In my opinion, you should take a skeletal muscle relaxant tablet containing Thiocolchicoside.
Nothing to worry. It will come down.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.

Thanks for sending a response to my question so quickly. After reading this blurb, I realise I should have said it was on my left hand side, Just above the elbow. Perhaps it is indeed just skeletal, as you suggested.
Is the spleen perhaps having something to say? This morning it was more of a spasm and then it became an awkward dull pain for some of the day.
Thanks again

Brief Answer:
Spleen lies below the diaphragm on left side.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Spleen is below the diaphragm on left side. Most of the splenic lesions cause pain in the left upper quadrant of the abdomen. Ultrasound abdomen will confirm splenic lesions. No splenic lesion cause Cramp like or spasmodic pain.
In my opinion, you should try with Skeletal muscle relaxant tablet containing Thiocolchicoside first. If there is no response, then you be investigated further.
Wish you good health.
