What Causes Cramping Pain In The Lower Left Abdomen?

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Jan 2017
Question: Lately when I pee I have a pain like a cramp on my lower left abdomen. It does not happen every time but sometimes it will happen every time I pee during one day and then it won't bother me for a few days. What could it be? Another note of concern is I have spotting when I pee sometimes. It appears on toilet paper and is infrequent and hasn't been coupled with any other symtomps so I just thought it was a normal women thing. It wasn't until after researching my side pain that I realized the spotting may not be normal. I'm 21 and not sexually active or on birth control

Brief Answer:
Menstrual history

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It would have been good if you had mentioned if your cycles are regular and predictable with last menstrual date.
Cramping in the lower left abdomen can be normal if it occurs during regular menstrual cycles, especially during urination. If it had not occured earlier and if it is new symptoms and occurs out of the menstrual period days it needs an examination.

This is especially important when you are actually not sexually active or not on pills. Because these rule out STD's and side effectss of the drug which play common cause for cramping pain.

You may need urine examination coupled with gynecologist examination.
