What Causes Cough With Shortness Of Breath?

Question: TRYING TO FIND OUT WHATS WRONG WITH ME. About 8 days ago I started coughing and seemed short of breath. Felt like I had a cold. I feel about the same way ecept now I am feeling sick in my stomach. not a sharp pain or anything like that, just sick almost like i want to throw up.

Hi,

I understand your concern.

Having a cold with coughing 8 days ago is indicating a possible viral upper respiratory tract infection.

Sometimes, these viruses are also associated with infection of the stomach/bowels.

And this is what I think is happening to you. For today you might be having to throw up only, but later or NY tomorrow, diarrhea or changes in bowel movements would happen.

I advise to:
- get more rest
- increase fluids intake especially water with OTC ORS
- take lemon soda
- have light meals: chicken soup, yigutyb7
If vomiting and diarrhea will persist, then other more specific treatment will be necessary together further diagnostic tests like abdominal ultrasound, fecal analysis, etc.

OTC = over the counter medication (can find without prescription)

ORS = oral rehydration salts , used to replace lost fluids and electrolytes especially during bowel infection or other problems.
