What Causes Cluster Of Small Blisters On Hand?

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Jul 2015
Question: I have a herpes-like cluster of small blisters in an area on the back of my right hand slightly smaller than the size of a dime. It has persisted for over three weeks. It seems to respond to applications of fluocinonide; but, it does not go away. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Possibly allergy;a photo is required...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concern.

A photograph of the herpes-like cluster of small blisters on the back of your right hand is needed to evaluate the changes myself for a more specific opinion.

From what you are describing, the small blisters might be an allergic reaction especially if you:
- have done some garden work recently?
- have been dealing with some new chemicals in the house: detergents? soap?

Fluocinonide is a potent steroid with anti-itching and anti-inflammatory properties; that's why the blisters are responding to this treatment.

However, I need to have the photo to give a more specific opinion.

Brief Answer:
Skin scrapping examination advised as following...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,

Thank you for uploading the requested photo. I admit that the quality was not as good to look at the details unfortunately due to poor clarity.

Anyway, I got the idea and I can say that if such blisters are not healing for 3 weeks, allergy is still a possible cause. Fungal infection is also to rule out through an examination of skin scrapping under microscope.

You can mix clotrimazole cream with fluocinonide and apply locally.

Hope it helped!
