Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Cloudy urine can be due to a number of things. This can include mild dehydration, infections in the urinary tract, excess protein in the urine. Irritation in the urinary tract can cause a cloudy appearance also.

Given that you had blood in your urine (even once), which is not normal in a man, it is important to go in to your doctor and have a urinalysis done. A specimen of urine will be asked for (give it there, don't bring it in), and the staff can do an abbreviated urinalysis with a dip stick while you wait. Depending on what it shows, a full urinalysis, and possibly a urine culture from the specimen will be done. These take longer as they are sent to the lab.

If you can't get in to see your doctor soon (tomorrow) then go to an urgent care clinic to get started. Be sure to tell them about the incident of blood even if it was a few months ago. Ask to be seen by an MD and refuse a physician's assistant or nurse practitioner, which these clinics may be staffed with.

Cloudy urine can be just a temporary thing, as I mentioned, from having drunk less water for example, but it is important to evaluate it given your (1 time) history of having blood in the urine.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
