What Causes Chronic Itching Throughout Body?

default
Posted on Wed, 22 Apr 2015
Question: Every evening for at least 6 months my skin gets extremely itchy. There is no rash but the area does turn sunburn red. I have a healthy diet and my skin is not dry. I moisturize daily with fragrant free lubriderm and coconut oil. I have tried hydrocortisone cream and take Benadryl. It starts on my toes, top of feet, ankles and up my legs. My chest and neck get itchy and red and then my hands and arms back and stomache. I can not sleep and take a brush to bed with me. There are no hives.

Brief Answer:
Requires to be investigated

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
Since there is no rash or obvious cause for itching, it requires to be investigated.
It may be an allergic reaction to some things you come into contact like food, cosmetics or dress etc. It may even be a manifestation of an internal problem like liver , kidney or blood diseases.
It may be a good idea to see a doctor and be investigated.
I shall be happy to answer if you have further queries.
