What Causes Chronic Itching On The Leg?

Question: hello doctor,
i just want to enquire for allergy in my left leg,which is there from last 3 months and has some itching in it

This is from around 3 months,there was used to be itching

My father is diabatic,it took it normally and hence used ring cutter balm on it which didnt helped

these are looking like lichen simplex chronicus, it is also known as neurodermatitis and is a autoimmune disorder.

In such cases I usually prescribe clobetasol ointment twice daily for three to four weeks followed by maintenance with MOMETASONE LOTION..

I also usually prescribe LEVOCETRIZINE twice daily

One important thing is to mention that you need to break itch scratch cycle ie take the Medicine, apply the lotion but don't touch the lesion.

Itching causes release of neurotransmitter which further increases the itching and this is itch scratch cycle.

Also investigate your blood sugar level as you have diabetes history in your family and this disease is more common in diabetics.
