What Causes Chime Like Sound In Head After Taking Ambien?

Question: Yes, I've been taking Ambien for a year. Lately I've been awakened by a sound in my head that sounds like a chime. Is this a side effect of the Ambien?

Ambien can cause bad dreams and hallucinations as side effects. Auditory hallucinations in form of chime like sound may be side effect of ambien. However we can not confirm it through any direct specific way.

If it is single event and not recurring just ignore it.

If frequency of such episodes are more and disturbing we need to stop the ambien and check that this thing improves or not.In absence of ambien no such symtpom then it is confirmed that ambien is the cause.If symptoms continue, thorough neurological examinations to be done to check for other problem.
