Posted on Mon, 7 Sep 2015
Question: I am a 48 year old femaie. I am experiencing extreme cold (like I am in Alaska without clothes in the snow) to extreme heat (have to take off clothes and stand in front of a fan. I have pain in my lower back which almost never goes away. I also suffer from level 10 migraines most of the time (since I was a young girl).
The extreme cold with violent shaking occurred last night for the first time in my life. I calmed down after several hours. However, it came on again about an hour ago.

Brief Answer:
Probably transition to menopause symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your query and understand your concerns.

The answer to your concerns most probably is transition through menopause, due to female hormones imbalance.

This could be a difficult period especially in controlling symptoms and worsening of previous health issues.

Hormones measurement and substitution could help improve at least partially symptoms.

Follow up with your primary care Doctor is needed too.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Take care.
