Brief Answer:
Possibly it is a muscular sprain not to be worried

Detailed Answer:
Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

Pain in the right side of chest specially in your age group does not appear to be of any serious nature. This might have occurred due to some kind of muscle spasm/sprain during your work or even during sleep or while lifting any heavy weight. Any other problem in the lungs or chest are not very much likely with no history of any cough or respiratory problem, or fever, and with no history of smoking. Pain during breathing is most likely due to the movement in the strained muscle.

If I were your doctor, I would prescribe you with some anti inflammatory drug along with a proton pump inhibitor drug to start with. Usually muscle sprains would subside with few days of therapy with an anti inflammatory drug, and also some hot compress with a local anti inflammatory cream as well.

If your pain does not subside or increases, then you need to be examined clinically by a physician, and in that case you should visit your nearest physician/ER room of a hospital for a clinical assessment and any other related investigations if need be.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in planning your treatment. Thanks for using the health care magic forum for your query on health. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
