Question: my daughter is complaining she is having some chest pain, (feels like she cracked her ribs she says. She is over at a friends house currently) she says she is trying to take deep calm breaths. She is 13
. we live at the beach and she was swimming today, I don't think she drank a lot of water but she goes and gets smoothie and that probably does not help for hydration.

Brief Answer:
If pain persists visit ER

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic
Your child could have just a muscle pain or gastritis. If so it should settle with rest and deep breathing.
Ensure she takes plenty of liquids , avoid spicy foods.
If pain does not settle in few hours, it could be something serious like rib injury which needs visit to ER to confirm.

Wishing her speedy recovery.
