Detailed Answer:

Hello!

Welcome back on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I could say that facing your young age, a normal resting ECG, and nonspecific characteristics of your pain ("sometimes feel the spasm, contraction and heaviness"), it may be concluded with a high probability that your actual pain doesn't seem to be related to any cardiac issues.

So, I am asking you to relax, as a prolonged chest pain, if it were from cardiac ischemia would definitely lead to myocardial damage (reflected on ECG and lab tests [cardiac enzymes]).

Instead, other alternative responsible causes should be sought as well.

Your pain characteristics seem more compatible with a musculoskeletal disorder (probably an acute or chronic inflammation).

Coming to this point some lab tests would be helpful:

- complete blood count,
- PCR,
- AST & ALT,
- CPK,
- LDH,

to define the level of inflammation and possible muscle damage.

Several viral, microbic, parasitic infections may be responsible for such a clinical scenario.

A shingles (herpes zoster) infection may lead to severe and prolonged chest pain. It is necessary a careful skin inspection to note a possible eruption, as well as underlying lab tests.

Other infection like spirochaete infections may lead to musclular pain, symptomatology.

Also certain parasytic infections when not properly treated may lead to body muscle injury and serious clinical status alterations.

When judging about an infectious cause of a certain symptomatology, it is crucial having a comprehensive view of the previous and actual clinica lepidemiology (previous infectious diseases, travelling to endemic areas, close living animals, tick bites, etc).

I recommend you taking some symptomatic relieving pain killers, like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (naproxen, ketoprofen, ibuprofen, etc), performing the above mentioned tests and discussing with your attending physician (GP or internist) to properly guige you through the differential diagnostic process.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

If you have further uncertainties, feel free to ask me!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Not active soccer football but something a bit competitive and that mostly last for 30-45 mins. Lastly do you have idea why i could be coughing out reddish and loose phlegms after running or when i wake up every early in the morning. Sometimes when am hungry i feel radiating pain on my chest.. It's kind of scary because i have never fall sick all my life, i have always love drinking alcohol but i have stopped for about 4-5 months now thinking it could be the cause of the chest pain.. Am so confused and my doctor is tired of seeing me, they think am too worried but i wouldn't be lying abou

Detailed Answer:

Hi again,

An increase in lymphocytes count speaks in favor of an inflammation/infection (most probable intracellular microorganism or even viral).

In such case you need to discuss with an infectious disease specialist for investigating further some of the most common intracellular pathogens.

It is important as I mentioned above to be guided by your personal epidemiological experience.

I encourage you to engage in physical activity as long as it gives you pleasure and enough to not giving you any physical discomfort.

Regarding your reddish sputum with coughing this needs further investigation starting from ENT examination to a careful bronchoscopic test to properly define the exact site of any bleeding.

Even an infection may display such a symptomatology.

I still insist you should meet an experienced infectious disease specialist.

Regards,

Dr. Iliri

Brief Answer:
Supplements are an integral part of the specific antimicrobial therapy.

Detailed Answer:

Hello!

Inflammation and infection are frequently seen together, thought sometimes inflammation may be caused by causes other then infections.

Whether the strong suspicions about inflammation/infection are confirmed, this depends on the above recommended tests results.

It's hard to believe that supplements alone may treat infections/inflammation.

It is necessary to follow etiologic treatments prescribed by the infectious disease specialist (mainly antimicrobial agents).

Supplements are of course an important component of medical management.

They should be used under close supervision of your attending doctor.

Wishing you a good health,

Dr. Iliri
