Brief Answer:
this is likely musculoskeletal

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
We are always concerned about the heart when we hear that someone has chest pain. However at 28 years old with right sided chest pain of 4 years duration a heart problem is unlikely. I will tell you that if you are a smoker, a diabetic, hypertensive, have high cholesterol or have early heart disease in your family, you need to see a doctor to have your heart cleared.
If not then the problem sounds like it is musculoskeletal. There are many bones and muscles that make up the chest wall that connect into the ribs and the scapula in the back. These can become irritated or inflamed and cause chronic chest wall pain.
You could certainly try anti-inflammatory medications but your best chance for relief from this type of pain is to see a physical therapist and have them work on releasing tense muscles and relieving any inflammation or irritation in the area.
I hope you get some relief soon
