What Causes Calf Pain And Rashes After Consuming Lobster?

default
Posted on Wed, 6 Sep 2017
Question: I experienced symptoms after consuming steamed lobster a lot of times in a 1-week period: (July 25-31) strong pain in both calves, both shins, and in both legs at the top front (feels like a ligament, burning pain). Also, a red rash appeared on one buttock over a 5-inch area or so, and touching the area felt like it was a bruise, but there was no color of bruising. Friends told me to drink a shot of pickle juice: I was dehydrated. No change, but I continued to hydrate a lot. I was able to walk with the pains, but I couldn't get to sleep at night without a rolled-up bed-pillow under my knees. Fully extending my leg hurt the ligament-burning area.
The pain continued after I stopped eating lobster, only disappearing overnight August 5th. On August 7th I exercised without much discomfort, except a lingering burning ligament feeling in one leg.
This all happened in Maine, where I know LYME disease is easy to catch from a tick...Although I walked a little in grass and pine needles, I never felt a bite, and didn't see any ticks.
Does over-eating lobster cause this type of reaction in sensitive people?

Brief Answer:
Not likely to be allergy

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but this doesn't seem like an allergy to lobster. Allergic reaction to lobster manifests by Vomiting, Stomach cramps, Indigestion, Diarrhea, Hives all over the body,
Shortness of breath, Wheezing, Repetitive cough,
Tight, hoarse throat; trouble swallowing, Swelling of the tongue and/or lips, Weak pulse, Pale or blue coloring of the skin, Dizziness or confusion..
however, since you live in a place where Lyme disease is abandant, then I would recommend that you take the test as the rash on your buttocks can be the area of the tick bite and it can also manifest by body aches .. I hope I answered your question
