Brief Answer:
Home remedies helps.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Having a burnt throat from hot food is common but it can be uncomfortable. There is no need to see a doctor immediately.

You can try some home remedies to alleviate the symptoms like:

- Drink ice water and be sure to hold it in your mouth for some time and then swallow it.

- Sucking on popsicle or ice cubes for half an hour will also help the irritated areas.

- Having some cold milk or yogurt will also help because the dairy products coat your throat and mouth and provide your body with time to repair the damaged tissue.

- You can also take an OTC pain reliever to alleviate pain.

- You can also consider gargling with saltwater to reduce pain.

- Avoid any foods that are hot, sharp, spicy, sour, crunchy or crisp.

- Drink plenty of fluids, especially plain, cool water, during the day.

You will need to go to an ENT specialist if it gets infected, forming blisters and fever. Otherwise it will get cured withing a week.

I hope this answered your query.
