default
Posted on Mon, 12 Jan 2015
Question: I have burning and tingling in the hands and feet. Every once in a while I will feel like a light switch went off in the entire body. I'll have a bowel movement and the light switch effect will go back to just the tingling in the hands. As I am typing this and pressing the keys my fingers tingle and especially tickle.

Brief Answer:
Sounds like peripheral neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your query.
I think I would be able to help you.

The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of peripheral neuropathy.
This is a condition where the nerves in the body are in the process of getting damaged.

The most common cause of this is diabetes. I would hereby request you to give me a more complete medical history and treatment history, if any.

I would suggest to any patient that comes to me a study of the nerves called nerve conduction study. In your case ,of all 4 limbs.

I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
