Brief Answer:
Possibility of Incisional Hernia

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day

Dear Sir

Presence of bulge following Surgery could be due to Incisional Hernia or Weakness in abdominal wall following Surgery.
Exact diagnosis will depend on clinical examination. I would suggest you to send me clinical photograph for further assessment and advise. Also kindly provide me the following additional information

1. Is the bulge at site of Surgical incision
2. Was there any wound infection in the immediate post operative period following Surgery
3. How many days after the Surgery bulge occurred
4. The the bulge increase in size on coughing or straining while passing stools?

Awaiting your response

Take care

Brief Answer:
Possibly Incisional Hernia

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Going by your description of swelling occurring at operated site when sitting or standing(procedure which is associated with rise in intra-abdominal pressure forcing out the contents through the defect) possibility of incisional hernia needs to be considered. Exact diagnosis is only possible after clinical examination.

Brief Answer:
Early initiation of exercise predisposing factor

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Dear Sir

Early initiation of stomach exercise is one of predisposing factor for occurrence of Inscisional Hernia. If the Hernia is reducible with no other complaints, many of the Surgeons prefer not to intervene.
