What Causes Bruising On Lumber Area And Severe Back Pain?

default
Posted on Tue, 22 Jul 2014
Question: Last tuesday I had severe back pain in my lower back. No history of trauma or prior injury, no auto accidents or anything out of the ordinary. Pain made it hard to walk, and was predominantly on my right side. I went to chiropractor 3 times which did relieve the pain last week. I went back to him this evening and he noticed several (more than 7 bruises on my lumbar area. These are fresh bruises. Not sure where the bruising is coming from though.

Brief Answer:
Get hemo-profile done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone though your query.

Bruise in back region concerns me. I would order hemo-profile check up including Hemoglobin, bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombin time, etc. It would also be better to get MRI scan of lumbosacral spine. Discuss with your treating doctor about the tests. You can send me the reports.

I would not ignore this.

Stop taking any kind of painkiller without prescription of doctor, because it may further enhance bruising.

I don't know what king of treatment you chiropractor is giving to you also I don't believe in the way they treat people, you should always consult doctor instead of chiropractor.

I hope you have got your answer.

Thanks.

Dr.Singh.
