Brief Answer:
This spotting is often harmless.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

Relax. Don't worry. This spotting is quite common in early pregnancy. As long as you do not have cramps this spotting is not of concern.

It probably occurs because of the hormones controlling periods triggering bleeding from part of lining of uterus to which pregnancy sac has not yet attached. Pregnancy sac is completely attached to uterus lining by 3 months of pregnancy.

In IVF pregnancy, if two embryos were put in the uterus, one may stop developing. This may cause spotting.
Take enough rest. Avoid heavy work. Avoid intercourse for 1-2 weeks.

I hope this helps. If you have further concerns, do write to me. I will be happy to answer.

Best wishes,
Dr Rama
