What Causes Blood In Urine?

default
Posted on Wed, 10 Aug 2016
Question: I have drops of blood in my urine. Just started last night. I wasn't sure that that was what it was until this afternoon. Certain now that I am peeing drops of blood with my normal urine stream. First droop comes out immediately with first part of stream. Then more drops.

FYI, no associated pain or discomfort. No trauma. History of enlarged prostate, which was remedied by TERP procedure a few years ago. No follow up for the last three years. Caused bladder and kidney stress prior to mitigation. That is my only history related to urinary tract.

Brief Answer:
Needs work up and management

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Blood in urine ( hematuria ) with no pain and discomfort and history of TURP with no followups need work up like urine routine exam, bleeding profile, abdominal ultrasound, urodynamic studies and cystoscopy to sort out the cause of this bleed.

Infections, calculi, lacerations or some masses in the urogenital tract all can present this way. Too early to comment on and needs further work up to sort it out. Talk to a urologist and let them help.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
