What Causes Blood In Urine?

default
Posted on Mon, 22 Sep 2014
Question: This is going to sound strange. I was the front seat passenger in a vehicle that was badly rear-ended last nightl. This morning my back is a bit stiff, as expected. But the weird thing is I feel I have to urinate all the time and when I do jus a small amount comes out and there is blood in it. Could that be from the impact of the lap gelt during the accident?

Brief Answer:
It could be due stone in lower end of Ureter

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have stone in the lower end ( Intramural Part ) of Ureter.

Back ache with increased urge to pass urine and hematuria strongly suggest presence of stone in lower part of ureter. However this can be confirmed only on ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis.

Please consult qualified Urologist and get following basic tests done under his guidance ,
1) Routine urine and culture
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis.

In he mean while start taking antibiotic like Cefexine and antispasmodics like spasmoproxyvon .

Ensure to drink more water. To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Further treatment will depend upon results of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,
I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

It may just a coincidence.

Hello
Thanks for follow up.
It looks to be a coincidence and possibility of stone can not be ruled out unless proved otherwise.
