Question: I have hemorrhoids & I started bleeding for the first time pretty bad about a week ago. It calmed down after a day. I notice that there is blood in my urine when I check right after. Now I am not sure where the blood is actually coming from. I have increased my water & fiber intake. Now I don't know which area the blood is coming from and I am getting scared

Brief Answer:
Most likely from the hemorrhoids:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Yes, this can be quite confusing as the proximity of the urethra and anus are close. It is common for blood per rectum/anus to get mixed in.

If you know that the hemorrhoids were upset, then you likely have a source to explain this. One way to check is next time you see blood in the water, XXXXXXX your anus very gently and see if there is some bright red blood there. Then you will know that it is from the hemorrhoids.

But if you aren't able to sort it out, go to your doctor who can have a look.

Until then, please don't worry as odds are that it is from the hemorrhoids that were angry last week.

I hope this information helps. Please feel free to let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.
