2. You are on a good antibiotic. It takes many days for the inflamed tonsils to settle down after treatment. Often these infections are viral to begin with, which means that they will run their course and the antibiotics prevent secondary bacterial infections.

3. Treatment depends upon signs and symptoms. If you have any throat pain, pain during swallowing, fever, congestion in the throat and so on, then supportive medication such as anti-inflammatory (after meals) and a medicated gargle should be used.

4. The drainage in your throat is known as a Post Nasal Drip (PND) and the scabs and slight bleeding from the nose all point to a cold (Upper Respiratory Tract Infection - URTI) that most probably started this all. A mucolytic and an anti-allergic medication will ease these symptoms.

5. A bland diet and adequate fluids should be taken along with rest. With longer duration of antibiotic treatment, probiotics and anti-reflux medication should be added.
