Brief Answer:
This is not unusual

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
It. is common that early after band ligation some.amount of bleeding is observed and it may persist for up to 10 days. Mucous discharge is also not unusual. So I don't think you should be worried at this point. It is not likely that rubber band slipped off and you should just follow postoperative instructions: measures for stool softening, sitz baths and pain control. If however, bleeding persist for longer, then you should see proctologist to see if new hemorrhoids developed. Wish you good health. Regards

Dear doctor, i am really nervous. I did a colonoscopy last year in XXXXXXX and everything was fine. During my pregnancy i had a benign polip removed. When should i repeat the colonoscopy? Since i did the colonoscopy i have had some blood episodes and for the two past months brown mucus. Could this be ateason for cancer? Iam so afraid. What should i do?

Brief Answer:
Cancer is las thing to think of

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Well, cancer is the last thing to think of especially in your age, but it is good that you ve done colonoscopy and this rules out any tumor and new one cant develop in one year. There is no need to repeat colonoscopy in next 5 years unless some significant symptoms occur. I think that rectal bleeding and mucous are related to hemorrhoids and this is most common cause generally. Now, you should be patient for few weeks till this area heals and then see what happens. You should follow diet for stool softening and everything will be fine, trust me.

Dear Doctor,

Thank you for your email. I continue to have brown mucus when I wipe, but not blood anymore. I continue to be really nervous with this. It is possible that this condition persists with the hemorrhoids??
