What Causes Annoying Sensation In Penis After Hip Injury?

default
Posted on Fri, 10 Jul 2015
Question: My penis has a sensation that causes me to tense up. Not a pain, more of an annoyance. Can't sit still. I assume it's neurological. I have a torn labrum in my right hip. And piriformis tightness on both sides.

Brief Answer:
could be referred from hip injury

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It is possible that there is something neurological that is getting referred from you hip injury. People with hip injury often get referred pain into the groin. I know you say that this is not pain, but still it could be something referred into the groin from the hip. It also would be a good idea to see a urologist for an exam just to make sure that everything is okay with your penis, testicles and prostate because a problem in any of those areas could cause you to have this sensation. It could also be coming from the piriformis tightness so working with a physical therapist to loosen that up could be helpful.
I hope you get some relief soon,
Dr. Robinson
