What Causes An Elevated Blood Platelet Count?

Question: lately my platelets have been slightly elevated 412. what would they be for me to worry about a clot or something, my doctor said this is not high. also, I had my gallbladder removed 3 years ago...could that make platelets go up and just be the normal for me Now?

so what is considered high?.. that could cause clots..etc?.. and no. I'm not post operative as I said in the question it's been 3 years. I was asking if u don't have a gallbladder could it effect your body in that way...

Platelet count upto 450 is normal. More than 450 is considered as high. But count upto 600 to 700 generally don't cause any problems.
