The answer is no. Shellfish allergy happens due to body's immune systemreaction to proteins in certain marine animals. It has nothing to do with iodine. People can be allergic to iodine with or without shellfish allergy. However, there is increased genetically determined risk in some people to be allergic to more substances so some people are allergic to both shellsih and iodine but this is generally rare.
