What Causes Acute Pain In Lungs While Yawning?

default
Posted on Tue, 6 Oct 2015
Question: I sometimes experience acute pain in either of my lungs when I yawn. I'm not sure but it feels like an air bubble in the lung or a muscle cramp or nervous weakness....during this time I feel slight pain in my right/left arm and doesn't allow me to move. Breathing in/out causes extreme pain in such situation. The pain lasts for a few seconds. I've observed that this happens when I am hungry.

I smoked for about 12 years and quit since the past 7 months. This however had no affect on the frequency/occurrence of the pain. I consume about 750ml alcohol over a weekend.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of muscular pain is more.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Possibility of muscular pain due to muscular spasm is more.
Since you are taking alcohol regularly, possibility of vitamin b12, calcium and vitamin d3 deficiency is more.
Any of these deficiency can cause sudden muscular spasm and pain.
So better to get done vitamin b12 level, calcium and vitamin d3 level.
If deficiency then you need supplements.
If possible, quit alcohol as soon as possible because it is not good habit.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
