What Causes Acne On Cheeks Post Child Delivery?

default
Posted on Tue, 20 Jan 2015
Question: After my child's delivery I have been getting continous acne. Never had them before. They are around my cheek bone area and keep spreading. I have 2-3 active pimples at all times. They have been leaving the scars too. It is extremely stressful. Is there is anyway i can control the acne and fade out the scars.

Brief Answer:
I suggest topical as well as Oral treatment for your acne

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I suggest you to use topical antiacne treatment e.g Topical Benzoyl Peroxide gel or Clindamycin gel for your active acne.

At night, I usually ask my patients of acne to use a Topical Retinoid e.g Adapalene Or Azaleic acid. Retinoids are antinflammatory as well as comedolytic; they prevent new acne while treating existing ones. Topical Retinoids, particularly Azaleic acid also help fade away the marks.

Use a gentle cleanser for face wash e.g cetaphil cleansing lotion, twice daily.

Peeling sessions are an add on and cannot be a substitute for acne. Apart from the topical and oral antiacne treatment you may opt for salicylic acid chemical peeling sessions once every 2 weeks

I suggest you to visit a dermatologist in your region for the needful. Your dermatologist might also contemplate starting you on Oral antibiotics like Azithromycin (considered to be safe in nursing mothers), if your acne is inflammatory.
