Brief Answer:
Functional Bowel disorders has to be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

I understand your concern.

If Colonoscopy and endoscopy are normal, then you need not worry much since major organic lesions are ruled out.

This diarrhoea could be functional in origin.

I advice you to get a complete stool examination and Fecal fat estimation to rule out malabsorptive or functional bowel disorders.

In case if these tests also turn out to be negative, then you can be completely rest assured.

Meanwhile antidiarrhoeals like Tab Loperamide 4 mg(2 tabs/capsules of 2mg each )straight, followed by 2 mg(one tablet/capsule) after each time you go to toilet with diarrhoea.Continue this regimen for 48 hours.

Please note above drug has to be taken only under medical prescription.

Post your further queries,if any.
Thank you.

Thank you Doctor

We still have some queries.
1) The stool is in black colour with bad smell. Is it due to food? if so what is the diet you recommend to avoid this problem.
2)Sugar level is 120 mg/dl and is it advisable to take plantain after dinner?
3)Whether is problem is due to mental disturbance?

Brief Answer:
Need to rule out infection with this stool pattern.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

I understand your concern.

Food rarely causes black coloured foul smelling stool.
This could be a possible infection of the lower gut or a blood leakage into the stool.

This can be evaluated with precision by a Complete stool examination.

Diet does not cause such effects.Hence no specific food recommendations can be made in this case. Most foods can be allowed once infection is ruled out.

In presence of 120 mg% of blood glucose,Plantain can be taken only occasionally like twice or thrice a week, but not daily.

Mental disturbances due not produce such stool changes.

Thank you.
