What Causes Abdominal Pain After Straining A Muscle During Physical Activity?

default
Posted on Sat, 13 Dec 2014
Question: In early July 2014 I was pulling on a rope and experienced sharp pain all the way across the bottom of my abdomen. It felt like a strain.
The initial sharp pain subsided quite quickly and with rest the residual pain has also gone.
I now have occasional "dragging" pain in the lower right abdominal region which can be bought on by walking, exercise, carrying, lifting, pulling etc.
On examination (feel) I cannot feel any bulges or abnormalities.
Do you think that this pain will also resolve with rest?

Brief Answer:
Clinical examination by Physician required

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Mr XXXXXXX

The sudden onset of sharp pain following pulling of rope is likely to be due to tear in inferior epigastric artery leading to Hematoma.

Coming to your present symptom. Dragging right lower abdominal pain associated with act of exertion it is important to consider the possibility of Hernia. Even though you have not felt any bulge ,it does not conclusively rule out hernia. Examination by an experienced Physician is required. I would suggest you to consult your Physician for routine clinical examination and assessment.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care
