This could be a healing extraction socket, if it is then it is very much normal and there is absolutely no reason to worry, you just follow the post extraction instructions given to you properly by taking proper course of antibiotics and analgesics, and lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses, apply some ice packs over the region and you will be fine.

For your peace of mind, visit to the concerned Dentist get a thorough examination done for the socket, take an IOPA radiograph of the region.

This will give the correct idea for the healing socket.

Also take multivitamin supplements, rest and a balanced diet rich in vitamin C.

Slight swelling after extraction is common, if you have done with a visual examination by your Dentist (as you have mentioned) you can continue with the treatment plan mentioned by him, without visual and radiological examination it is difficult to give any diagnosis, as you have remembered i have mentioned to take an IOPA x-ray of the region,.
Take an x-ray of the region, if it is abscess it is to be removed.
