Question: I have something on the side of my tongue it's white and about the size of a piece of long grain rice.

According to your complaints it could be either leukoplakia which is a precancerous lesion or candidiasis which is a yeast infection.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply antifungal medicine like clotrimazole mouth paint on the affected area twice daily for 12-14 days.
If it doesn't show improvement in 14 days consult a doctor and get it examined.
