Posted on Wed, 9 Nov 2016
Question: I have either either a pimple out of the blue (60 yrs old) or something bit me this weekend on my left side of my face. I did put a helmet on, possibly something inside my helmet or while riding? What to use?

Brief Answer:
can use benzoyl peroxide, topical antibiotics, warm compress

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Pimples are due to different factors , one of the factors relates to a bacteria that plays a role in the development of these pimples/lesions.

Treatment can include : (1)Cleaning the face or specific area with a cleanser containing benzoyl peroxide (used in acne- helps treat bacteria and also removes excess skin blocking glands) and

(2)applying a topical antibiotic twice daily eg neosporin, bactroban, fucidin

(3)a warm compress applied for 10 to 15 mins, twice daily would encourage drainage of the lesion as well and help it to resolve faster

If there is no improvement with the topical treatments that may mean that oral medication such as oral antibiotics.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questionsl
