Question: Hello Doctor,

It all started , few months ago. I had small sore near the base of my penis I bursted with puss and some blood came and it healed in day or two. then i started appearing the day after i mastrubated and same thing happens . Its always just one sore . Two weeks back i had my sore bursted and its not healing( just blood comes out) also its located at complicated spot between the base of penis in a corner so that , my thigh rubs it all the time while sitting . I had proteced sex with a person in November and these started appearing after november , could it be STD or bacteria infection. Any advice would help.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
It is a non healingulcer over groin.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have developed a chronic non healing ulcer over groin probably following bursting of a infected sebaceous cyst.

It is unlikely to be due to STD

The skin in this area is rich in sebaceous glands and hence prone to get more sebaceous cyst due to accumulation of sebum beneath the skin.

Normally they fade away without treatment however they need to be treated if increase in size or get infected. You had a sebaceous cyst which got infected and burst open but the capsule of the cyst remains there which becomes the source of Chronic infection and to form a chronicnon healing ulcer .

Consult qualified General Surgeon for clinical examination and get swab test and culture of the fluid from base of the ulcer to trace out the organisms causing this infection .

In the mean while take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefexime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.along with topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin twice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotic as per culture report.

You need to clean the wound with Betadine solution and dress it properly covered with sterile gauze dressing .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
