Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
Hello & thank you for submitting your question.

The changes in your rash may be due to various causes. However, the most important thing to rule out is a shingles infection. Other considerations for the symptoms include a superimposed infection on a previous skin rash, which might have been allergic or infectious in nature. It would be very reasonable to schedule an appointment with your physician as soon as possible for a physical examination & assessment for possible prescription medication. In the meantime, it's important to monitor the spread of the rash, to keep the area clean and covered, and to try to avoid skin contact with others.

Sincerely,
Dr Galamaga
