Posted on Wed, 8 Jun 2016
Question: I am 10 days post op left arthroscopic shoulder surgery. Apparently there was a large tear, bone spurs and impingement. I have found two very painful pea sized lumps in my armpit. What could they be?

Brief Answer:
Probably folliculitis but would love to review an image!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I have reviewed your information fully. The location and description of these pea sized lumps is suggestive of an infected hair follicle. I will suggest that you upload an image for review. This way, I can confirm the suspicion and propose a plan to address it. Also, was the armpit shaved prior to this surgery? This is a common provoking factor.

To upload an image, click on the upload icon to the right of your dashboard and follow the onscreen instructions. You may also send it directly to customer service at YYYY@YYYY and request that it should be uploaded to your query.

I hope to hear from you and promise to respond promptly. Until next, I wish you well.
