What Causes A Lump In The Breast?

default
Posted on Fri, 7 Apr 2017
Question: Hello Im a 20 year old female.
I have noticed a hard/firm lump in my left breast close to my nipple im pretty sure it wasnt there a couple of months ago but maybe it was too small to feel then. Obviously I have been poking and prodding and I have noticed there is a cloudy discharge from the nipple also. I have been to the doctors and they have referred me to a breast surgeon, im just looking at for more advice on what I may be dealing with.
The lump is painless and from what the doctor has said he considers it to be XXXXXXX it is around 3/4 cm
I cant notice any lumps in my arm pits but I have nodes in my neck i can feel all less than 0.5 in diameter, though my doctor doesnt think these play a role
What breast conditions could cause a hard lump AND discharge. All I can find on google is cancer

Brief Answer:
Hello. Fibroadenoma is most likely

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I have gone through the details. Relax and do not worry. The most common cause of a free XXXXXXX lump. In breast at your age is fibroadenoma and it's a benign swelling, not cancer. An ultrasound of breast is still warranted to diagnose it. Cancer is very very very rare at your age.
So donot think of cancer n be assured.
Thanks and regards

Brief Answer:
Hello. Discharge may be there

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Discharge can be there in a young girl and it can be unrelated to fibroadenoma. Still no reason to worry. Get an ultrasound.
Thanks and regards
