Brief Answer:
IImplantation Bleeding, precautions advised

Detailed Answer:
hello and welcome to HCM forum. First of all congratulations on pregnancy.
Discharge you are telling about is mostly due to Implantation bleeding. Since you have doubling Hcg levels then the pregnancy is going fine. you should take following precautions.
1. Take rest as much as possible
2. avoid sexual intercourse.
3. eat green leafy vegetables.
Can you tell me the medicines you are taking for tour pregnancy??

Im not taking any medicine just prenatals. Is it normal to have brownish yellow discharge during pregnancy?
My blood type is o + and all my prenatal blood work came back perfect and my progesterone levels were 27 at 4 weeks

Brief Answer:
Duphaston should be added

Detailed Answer:
The discharge should be yellowish to be normal, but brownish tinge or brownish discharge cannot be normal and it can be implantation bleeding or an early sign of abortion.
But ever since all your blood work is good and you don't have cramping either, chances of implantation bleeding are high.
Along with prenatal vitamins you should take progesterone too.
I usually like to add duphaston but as it is a prescription drug you can discuss with your gynecologist and start the same.
Right now rest is the most important medicine for you and avoid exertion at all times.
Take care

Now I worried. It was more like discharge not spotting. And why do I need to take oprogesterone if the doctors said my progesterone levels are really good? I confused. I having an ultrasound tomorrow I am 5 weeks.
Is there anyway I can send u a photo?

Brief Answer:
Get the ultrasound first

Detailed Answer:
You have a feature to upload the reports by yourself on the right side of this query page. Please utilize it. Alternatively, mail it to  YYYY@YYYY with subject line as 'attention to Dr. Manisha Jain'.
Even if your progesterone levels care good you should take it because it will help in combating the abortion process if at all has started.
Just get your ultrasound done tomorrow and then we can discuss further management accordingly.
All the best.

I uploaded the photo of my scan. She measured the sac to be 5 weeks 1 day and said everything is normal at this point. What are you're thoughts? She said my progesterone is at the highest 95% percentile rank too.

Brief Answer:
I still recommend progesterone

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, really happy to see the image and a good thing that the gestation is corresponding to your last menstrual periods.
But did you discuss the use of duphaston as a support with your gynecologist?
In my practice I like to put my patients on duphaston till ultrasound confirms cardiac activity as bleeding episode needs to be taken seriously even if your progesterone levels are perfectly normal.
Wish you a very healthy pregnancy and may god bless you with a healthy baby soon.

So does ultrasound look good for where I am? According to my last menstrual period I am 4 weeks 6 days but according to ultra sound I am 5 weeks 1 day
i don't see a yolk sac yet though
doctor
Answered by Dr. Manisha Jain (8 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Repeat scan after 10 days

Detailed Answer:
Hi, ya your ultrasound seems fine as the sac is central and regular in outline.
There is always a difference of 5-7 days between gestation calculated by ultrasound and that by last period date.
So that way nothing to worry.
Yolk sac is seen in 5-6 week ultrasound and cardiac activity between 6-7 week ultrasound so best will be to get a scan after 10 days from now and hopefully both will be seen and confirming viable pregnancy.
All the best.

Brief Answer:
Still there are chances of abortion.

Detailed Answer:
Ni you still can have missed abortion and thus need rest and progesterone support as I told you.
Till there is cardiac activity documented by ultrasound, you need to be cautious.
I know this is scary but I don't want to give you false hopes.
But definitely chances of abortion are less and there are every chances that you are carrying a healthy pregnancy without complications.
