What Causes A Lesion On Right Posterior Deltoid Area?

Question: 87 yo female with red, flat 7-8 com well demarcated lesion on right posterior deltoid area right arm and send slightly less red about 4 cm lesion on left over back first seen this evening. Noted some discomfort but not itching noted beginning yesterday. No discomfort on the back lesion

Hi and thanks for this query.

I have reviewed these lesions and they seem to be caused by an allergy. I will not rush to prescribing XXXXXXX drug at this time and more so because it causes no bothersome symptoms. Generally, it should resolve spontaneously unless something else happens.

For now, monitor only and send a follow up message in 72hours or earlier if something else comes up. I will review and provide further insight and guidance as well as make a decision on need to treat or not.
