What Causes A Clear Fluid Discharge From Cut On The Leg?
Question: I'm on oxygen 4 liters, the tech mentioned something about should ib cut myself and blood being thin. Don't recall all of it but did cut seld on lower leg today. ever since then I have had fluid ozzing out, no blood strictly clear.

1. Rupture of skin in edematous leg is leading to loss of fluid.
2. Needs swelling reduction in the legs as early as possible to prevent further blister formation and fluids oozing.
3. Legs elevation above heart level in lying down position with 2-3 pillows below legs ( if possible overnight) or if necessary diuretics, as already being taken can be continued and will be helpful. Once edema disappears, healing will be fast. Until then, avoid infection of wound.
4. Prednisone is necessary in view of pneumonia and insomnia is one of the common side effects. You can try taking prednisone in morning only rather than in evening. Discuss this with your doctor.
5. Melatonin could be helpful. If still not improved alprazolam maybe necessary. However, as respiratory system recovery is occurring, your doctor will decide whether alprazolam can be taken.
