Hello,

Fever with urinary tract symptoms usually means urinary tract infection (UTI). UTIs are not supposed to cause rash though. I haven't seen your rash so I can't say more about it - a picture might help. The best way to confirm a urinary tract infection is by doing a urinalysis. The presence of pus and nitrates in the urine usually mean UTI.

Other tests that may prove helpful (besides clinical examination of course!) include the following:
- a complete blood count (CBC)
- urea and creatinine
- C-reactive protein (CRP)

A high CRP value is consistent with a bacterial infection although certain viral infections may cause it as well. A high white blood cell count is also consistent with a bacterial infection. Urea and creatinine can be used to assess renal function. Obstructive uropathy may predispose to infection and cause high urea and creatinine.

General findings to indicate serious infection include (but they're not limited to) the following:
- high pulse rate
- low blood pressure
- low urine output
- high respiratory rate
- confusion
