What Can Be Done About A Skin Burn At The Ankle After Coming In Contact With A Bike Engine?

Question: hi Doctor, My husband' ankle came in contact with Bike's engine and got burnt. I have attached the picture of wound. It is really painful and he is finding little difficulty in walking as well. He is currently applying the ointment MUPI. Will the wound heal on its own or he should be trying some different ointmemt/medicine ?

Presence of pain suggests that the burn is only superficial and is not deep.

He can apply silver sulfadiazine ointment 2 times a day and keep the wound open. Wounds heal by themselves. Watch out for any signs of infection like pus, fever etc. In such a case, consultation with a surgeon will be needed.
