Question: I have noticed bald patches on my beard for the past few weeks. I applied Ayurvedic oil with no benefit. No other symptoms along with it.

Hi,

It maybe be alopecia areata. Most cases of this type of alopecia recover by themselves in few months time.

If you want to take some medicine then you can apply local steroid cream and see if it helps. Cream Hydrocortisone can be applied only at affected area 2 times a day for few days.

Otherwise injection of steroid at the patch area is required by dermatologist.

In my opinion if you shave and the bald patches are not a problem for you then you can ignore them.
