Brief Answer: treatment would depend on the cause Detailed Answer: Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic Anemia is a decrease in hemoglobin levels due to decrease in red blood cell mass. There are 3 main causes of anemia: (1) decreased red blood cells production (2) increased red blood cell destruction and (3) blood loss The 3 key symptoms are: fatigue, shortness of breath, palpitations. Persons may also experience- dizziness, headaches, cramps as well as symptoms that may be related to specific cause of the anemia. TREATMENT There are different types and causes of anemia and the exact treatment would depend on the cause. The complete blood count helps to determine the type of anemia and gives a general idea of possible cause though other tests are usually needed. In some persons anemia is due to inherited family conditions. (1)iron deficiency anemia is a common type- caused by low levels of iron either because of not using enough or due to blood loss This is treated by determining the cause and by using iron replacement tablets. (2)Anemia can also occur due to vitamin b12 or folate deficiency . In this case these vitamins are replaced. The complete blood count can also say if this is the case (3)Chronic illnesses such as liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes, cancer, persisting infections and autoimmune diseases can also cause anemia (4)some viral or bacterial infections can also cause anemia Summary- (1)SYMPTOMS- palpitations , shortness of breath and fatigue are main symptoms (2)the exact treatment would depend on the cause of the anemia I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
