Hello,

Thorax and abdomen are separated by a sheath called diaphragm. Oesophagus passes from chest into abdomen through diaphragm.Some times a part of stomach also protrudes out of it along with esophagus.This is called Hiatel Hernia.

Main symptoms mimic that of acid peptic disorder like acid formation and reflux in esophagus,Burning sensation in mouth and throat.

Treatment-
Take a proton pump inhibitor like Omeprazole once daily in morning empty stomach.

Hello,

Except surgery there is no CURE for hiatal hernia as it is a problem with anatomy.
However full control of symptoms can be achieved by taking a low dose of Omeprazole (Near cure from symptoms).So patient can lead a normal life.
