Brief Answer:
these records do not confirm GERD

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

From this record it is apparent that patient had an episode of sticking sensation in throat which improved with symptomatic management. She had similar episodes in the past also. But it is not clear what the final impression was. With her complaints, it would be wise to get an upper endoscopy done to confirm the diagnosis.

GERD is mostly functional, where the sphincter controlling the junction between stomach and espohagus becomes loose. It can also happen due to trauma, obesity, spicy food, alcohol, smoking, etc. But mostly without any specific reason. It is difficult to say what is the exact cause in her, if GERD is the final diagnosis. There is no details provided about her colon cancer, just that it is in remission. So it is not possible to ascertain if that is the cause.

Hope this helps.
Regards
