Brief Answer:
prozac abstinence of 2 months is needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

I can understand your concerns.

Fluoxetine (Prozac) would be out of your system in about 30-35 days (about a month), and norfluoxetine (its metabolite) is out by approximately 50-60 days or about 2 months.

So, ideally a 2 months period of abstinence from from prozac is needed to avoid risk to fetus.

Drugs pass to fetus via placenta. The nervous system is more developed in latter months of pregnancy.

As you are off prozac for 9 days, I would suggest you to wait for another 50 days before you plan for baby.

At this point, I would also like to tell you that prozac is relatively safe in pregnancy.
(As a general rule, NO drug is to be given in pregnancy until its extremely essential).

Hope this answers your queries satisfactorily.

Kindly discuss these issues with your gynecologist.

Feel free to discuss further.

Take care.
Thanks.
