Question: Hi My name is XXXXXXX I am 45 and I have a codeine 30/500 addiction of which Im now prescribed 84 per week, plus I was meant to stop buying OTC Paracetomol/codeine 8mg/500 which I didnt and I at least 16 but sometimes 24 a day, plus i have mt dads weekly cocodomol from the GP which is also 30/500, my dad doesnt know that I also have the rest. He was getting them for a bad back but didnt need them very long so me being addicted started having those aswell, plus I get usually aprrox a couple of strips again of cocodomol 30/500 every 2 weeks from a friend but I cdnt stop at that so I also take pregablin 25mg but I must take 20- 25mg per day and I have a real fear now. My doctor has not prescribed me the pregablin I got them off someone else. As i am on holiday from my job this week I decided i was going to go cold turkey and do it myself. For one the docs have more or less taken my dads off him he is down to 14, plus the pregablin has dried up now and I am having to limit myself to 4 a day and they run out next couple of days. I have tried to cut down on the codeine but because I feel so ill with the pregablin withdrawal im not getting very far. I wanted to get back to work on Tuesday off everything except antidepressants that I take. I think my gp is useless and feel really on my own ad my mood is getting worse I just keep bloody crying.
